I had the chance to design some background buildings; some would be up close to the player, and others (the purple ones ones) would be like skyscrapers and high-rises; much bigger and far away. It was really interesting to try and distill 'New York architecture' in to some key stylized pieces like trim and windows. The 3D team turned these in to modular pieces so we could have different heights and styles of building without having to make new custom meshes.
